Easy Snow Ice Cream with Lemon Salt

When snow and cold weather force you indoors, gather up family and friends for an old-fashioned game day. Dig out the board games and create teams for some friendly competition. Make this simple snow ice cream recipe and add some sweet and salty fun. The light and creamy taste is perfect for adding a variety of toppings. We added Lemon Zest Infused salt to ours. Because of the pyramid shaped salt crystals, it looks great on the white snow ice cream, and adds a distinct lemon flavor. Our Fruit trio Salt Set is another great choice, with Lemon Fresco, Lime Fresco, and Ginger Root salts all included in a set. These three finishing salts are great on fruit and ice cream. If you have a flair for adventure, try something hot and spice like Habanero Pepper or jalepeno from our Some Like it Hot Salt Set.

Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk (any kind)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 8 cups clean snow

How to make it:

In a large bowl, whisk milk, sugar, and vanilla together. Stir your snow into the milk mixture a bit at a time until you reach your desired consistency. Top with Salt Cellar Lemon Zest Infused salt and other toppings if desired. Enjoy right away! If you want to try this recipe and don’t have fresh snow available, you can substitute shaved ice. The density will be a bit different so you will have to adjust your ingredients to achieve the right consistency.
